Video 1 Provides the background of the development of the Neurolinguistic Approach (NLA) from the experimental Intensive French program in Canada.
Video 2 Examines two paradigms of teaching a second language – the traditional one that focuses on learning about language and the NLA that focuses on how to use the language. Reference is made to research in various domains, in particular Michel Parad’s’ theory of two memories (procedural and declarative).
Video 3 Introduces and explains the five principles of the NLA that were developed subsequent to the research carried out.
Video 4 Presents the eight strategies developed by teachers to acquire language structures needed to communicate orally.
Video 5 Presents the eight strategies for reading that support the acquisition of oral language and allow learners to observe language phenomena that are particular to the written language.
Video 6 Presents the eight strategies for developing writing skills that support the acquisition of oral language and allow learners to apply the use of the phenomena that are particular to the written language.
